So far the public response has been very encouraging.
Likewise we arranged a seminar at NEDFI convention centre, Guwahati on 12th May, 2012. The aim of the seminar was not only to create awareness but to elicit valuable public response, support and suggestion from an enlightened section of people on the backdrop of Majuli's case having been considered as a world Heritage site at UNESCO.
The interactive session of the Seminar was very instructive and the points raised by some people on the Dossier will certainly benefit and facilitate in resubmitting a Dossier fully measuring upto the standard and expectation of the World Heritage Committee.
The MCLMA is still in a nascent stage with a gamut of action to be geared up, however no efforts are left unturned in making it fully functional. More and more seminars, exhibition, public awareness campaign, interactive session with all the stake holders particularly the people of Majuli are considered vital in the greater interest of protecting this pith of Assamese Culture.
